The reality is a very real one for interior Alaska, and much of the world. Nature has a way of forcing the cleansing of her forests, regardless of how close to our homes the flames spread, and regardless of what creatures inhabit the land. This view in particular is inspired by the treeline that crests a hill near my mother’s home. Every summer, the fires creep within a few miles of her refuge, and warnings are issued while bags are prepped.
